Streamer and rapper DDG, whose real name is Darryl Dwayne Granberry Jr., has requested that Apple Music take action and fix its search engine, as it shows up his artist profile every time someone enters the poop emoji in the search bar.

The popular X page, Pop Crave, posted about it on July 3, 2025. The rapper noticed it and responded, claiming someone working for the app was trolling him.

"Who at apple music trolling me since i dropped my new song? @AppleMusic fix this gang," the rapper wrote.

According to Know Your Meme, the "Doo Doo Garbage" nickname was first used by YouTuber SoLLUMINATI, in June 2023. He jokingly dissed Darryl and said the full form of DDG was Doo Doo Garbage. It was used by netizens at the time, and back then, Spotify would display the rapper's profile when poop emojis were typed into the search bar.

The meme resurfaced in 2025, during Streamer University, a program created by popular streamer Kai Cenat for training other streamers. On May 23, 2025, while DDG was taking a class as a professor, an unidentified man in the classroom called Darryl, Doo Doo Garbage. The man was immediately kicked out of the class, and the rapper stated that he did not appreciate the name.

The entire class was live-streamed, so the incident was captured. Soon after the clip spread on social media and netizens mockingly started calling the rapper Doo Doo Garbage.

On Thursday, DDG released his new single, That's My Ball. He claimed in another tweet that his haters were supposedly targeting him because they want him to "lose."

"Ni****s want me to lose so bad, ik that sh*t be aggravating seeing me win," he wrote.

DDG and his brother DuB got into a physical altercation with a content creator as latter called the rapper Doo Doo Garbage

On May 31, 2025, during Dreamcon, a content creator, who goes by Lil Jay, called DDG by his supposed nickname. He was then beaten by the rapper's brother DuB and their entourage. This incident was again live-streamed.

Soon after the incident, Darryl was livestreaming, and when Kai Cenat called him, he claimed the incident was a skit. According to Hollywood Unlocked's report dated June 1, 2025, Lil Jay went on a live stream after the fight and claimed it was not a skit. He said that he was trying to "joke" with the rapper; however, DuB and one of his friends "pushed" him.

"I'm thinking it'd be funny, just a little joke. So I call him 'Doo Doo Garbage' from around the way. His homeboys stop, come back, his brother. DuB tries to press me about what I said. 'What you say?' 'Doo Doo Garbage.' Pushed the s**t out of me," Lil Jay said.

On June 1, 2025, DDG said on an X Spaces session that Lil Jay was allegedly following them around Dreamcon and was reportedly trying to "bully" them. The rapper also claimed his brother got into a fight with the aspiring content creator out of "self-defence."

Apple Music has not officially released a statement regarding the rapper's profile being search generated by the poop emoji.
