Teddi Mellencamp attended the Grammy Hall of Fame Gala on Friday, May 16, with her father, singer-songwriter John Mellencamp. At the gala, she gave People a health update on her ongoing skin cancer journey. The 43-year-old stated that she went through immunotherapy recently, and her scan results show that her tumors are gradually shrinking.

"I'm actually doing great. I had immunotherapy two days ago and they did another round of scans and they said all my tumors are continuing to shrink, so I'm feeling good and I'm happy, and I'm thrilled to be able to be here to support my dad," Mellencamp said.

Teddi Mellencamp was diagnosed with melanoma, a type of skin cancer, in 2022. Ever since then, she has gone through multiple biopsies and surgeries. In February 2025, after her tumor removal surgery, five new tumors were found during scans.

She told the media outlet that after the last round of intense immunotherapy, she'll have to get mild immunotherapy every four weeks for the next two years.

"This the last round of the intense immunotherapy and then I'll be doing immunotherapy for the next two years, every four weeks, but it's like half the dosage that I'm currently on, so then I think it's just going to get easier and easier on me," Mellencamp stated.

Teddi Mellencamp got a back tattoo over her surgery scar

Mellencamp posted her new back tattoo on Instagram on May 16. The tattoo on her spine is from her father John Mellencamp's 2008 song Longest Days. According to Page Six's May 16 report, the vertical tattoo partly covers her scar, which Mellencamp got from a surgery in January 2024.

"Life is short even in its longest days," the tattoo reads.

According to People's April 18 report, Mellencamp previously got a knife tattoo on her forearm and a match with flame tattoo with her Real Housewives of Beverly Hills co-star Kyle Richards and their common friend, Jennifer Turner Leipart.

She discussed her tattoos in the April 17 episode of the Diamonds in the Rough podcast. The podcast co-host Erika Jayne told the viewers that Mellencamp took advice from her doctors before getting the tattoos.

"Before everybody has a full mental break, she was allowed. She was medically cleared to get the tattoo, so don't get crazy," Jayne stated.

Teddi Mellencamp shares that she would not return to The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills

On the May 14 episode of Mellencamp's Two Ts in a Pod podcast, Dolores Catania, the star of The Real Housewives of New Jersey, asked if she would return to the popular reality show. Mellencamp replied that she would not.

"I have no idea. No clue," she said.

In July 2022, Teddi Mellencamp's friend and The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Kyle Richards told Daily Mail Australia that she would love to have Mellencamp back on the reality show.

"I think if she came back, she'd be more comfortable just being more herself, and she'd be amazing. I would give anything for her return because I had so much fun with her on the show and I love being with her," Richards said.

For the unversed, Teddi Mellencamp was on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills from 2017 to 2020. Currently, she hosts her Two Ts in a Pod podcast with Tamra Judge.
