“She is so whiny and clingy” — General Hospital viewers blast Willow’s portrayal as unfit for political spotlight

In the current scenario of the daytime soap opera General Hospital, Congressman Drew Cane decided to tie the knot with Willow Tait. The two started their relationship while Willow was still married to Drew’s nephew, Michael Corinthos. However, their relationship has caused significant drama, affecting the storylines for other major characters on the show. 

Fans also know that Drew has been trying his best to uplift his political career recently. However, the soap opera fans are voicing their opinions on the current scenario with Willow’s irrational behavior and her being an unfair partner for Drew, with regard to his political ambitions. 

A fan named Donna Korz started a discussion pot on Facebook on July 20, 2025. Donna shared a few photos of the soon-to-be-wed couple and captioned them with, 

“I can not understand what Drew sees in Willow. I thought that he just liked her because he could control her, but he genuinely seems to care for her. She is so whiny and clingy. Definitely not someone you would think of as a congressman's supportive wife. I am not sure that there is any way that they can redeem her character.”

Many fans of General Hospital shared their opinions on the same. Some agreed and commented about Drew being a narcissist, and that he loves her because he knows he can manipulate her. They commented,

As seen in the recent development of the daytime sopa opera, Willow lost the custody battle to Michael. Further, Michael also limited her access to the kids, which Willow went crazy over.

However, when she discussed the whole scenario with her boyfriend Drew Cane, he offered a marriage proposal, which could make her case stronger in court, thus leading to her getting her kids back in the upcoming custody hearing. 

Further, when Michael got to know about Willow’s plan, he threatened her that he would make things worse for her and not let the children attend the ceremony.

When Willow told Drew this, he went to Carly and threatened her that if Michael takes any action, so will he.

Drew was recently seen bothering Portia again and blackmailing her to manipulate his blood report. Though Portia did not comply with him, he is after her, making sure she proves him an addict, which makes his case weak in court. 

In this light, fans speculate that Drew is going to extreme lengths to make sure Willow gets her kids back. This might put a strain on his political career.

Even though Drew is known for his questionable choices and ambiguous nature, Willow might make things worse, which will put his political career in jeopardy, and that is the reason why fans believe she might not be a suitable partner for congressman Drew Cane.
