Despite the behind-the-scenes issues, the Dick Wolf procedural has become CBS' most-watched new series, averaging 13 million total viewers after three airings. FBI, which was originally given a 13-episode order, will now have a 22-episode freshman season. The full-season pickup comes one day after CBS announced its second showrunner change in the past few months. Original FBI showrunner Craig Turk, who wrote the pilot, was replaced in late July by Greg Plageman over creative differences. Plageman's job was to right the ship over the past three months. Now that FBI is back on track, Chicago PD's Rick Eid and Chicago Fire's Derek Haas will serve as co-showrunners.
