Desus Nice and The Kid Mero launch the fourth season of their late-night Showtime talk show a week from today, on March 10. But instead of having two shows a week, Desus & Mero will return to a weekly format. Additionally, J.D. Amato, executive producer of The Chris Gethard Show and senior field producer of The Problem with Jon Stewart, has been added as the show's first official showrunner. "The moves come as the pair are looking to get back to basics after two years of Covid-affected production – although arguably Desus Nice and The Kid Mero handled shooting from home better than most," according to Deadline's Peter White. "The intention is to return to the original weekly schedule to put their creative efforts into one episode." Desus & Mero initially aired weekly on Thursday nights when it launched on Showtime in February 2019. It expanded to two nights a week, adding Monday nights, two months later. Desus & Mero went to Thursdays and Sundays shortly after the pandemic began in early 2020.
