The Emmy-winning actress has signed on to play a groundbreaking big-city police chief named Abigail "Tommy" Thomas in the drama pilot from Homicide creator and Bull co-creator Paul Attanasio. "With a New Yorker’s gift for being tough and sarcastic while remaining likable, Tommy — as she likes to be called — loves being a cop more than anything and is a former high-ranking NYPD officer who’s just been hired as the first female Chief of Police for the LAPD," according to Deadline. "In her new role, Tommy uses her unflinching honesty and hardball tactics to navigate the social, political and national security issues that converge with enforcing the law." Tommy would mark a return to series television for Falco, the only person to have won the best actress Emmy in the comedy and drama categories for Nurse Jackie and The Sopranos, respectively. Falco was nominated for an Emmy last year for playing Leslie Abramson in the NBC limited series The Menendez Murders.
