The overwhelming majority of Hulu subscribers are on the $5.99/month plan. Hulu's head of advertising sales, Peter Naylor, says the streaming service is constantly trying to figure out ways to make viewing ad-friendly, including capping ad breaks at 90 seconds and showing ads when viewers pause the episodes. “We have to restrain ourselves. You can’t just jam ads because you need to make a number,” he said. “We want to have an experience for viewers that is consistent.”
