Joy Behar Praises Biden's WHCD Response: Trump Would've Been 'Plotting His Revenge'

The women of The View had nothing but kind things to say about the White House Correspondents' Dinner. As Sunny Hostin and Ana Navarro recalled their favorite moments from the event, Joy Behar praised host Trevor Noah for his "smoothly integrated" punchlines, and she applauded President Biden for laughing off the jokes — particularly when his predecessor seemed unable to do so.

Both Hostin and Navarro attended Saturday night's White House Correspondents' Dinner, which they described as a "wonderful night" of celebration and laughter. "I was really proud to see April Ryan receiving a standing ovation for her 25 years of coverage of the White House, after being just terribly treated by President Trump," said Hostin. "And I thought Trevor Noah just did such an incredible job."

"Can I say something for Trevor, because I'm a comedian," interrupted Behar. "I think that's a very hard job. He was very good for like, almost an hour. His jokes were so smoothly integrated into the bit. He'd go from one — to make Washington laugh is hard. The only audience that's worse than Washington are doctors."

"I also was impressed with Joe Biden, his response to the material," she continued. "But when they were trashing him, or roasting him, rather, he was laughing his head off, which shows you that he's mentally stable, as opposed to years ago — if you remember when Obama took a shot, a joke, at Trump, this is the response."

The View then pulled up a side-by-side comparison of Trump scowling and Biden laughing. "There's the difference!" said Behar. "You see, Biden is laughing at his low ratings, he's laughing at 'old' jokes, and Trump is ticked off and is plotting his revenge. That's the difference between the two presidents."

Elsewhere on The View... Whoopi Goldberg returned to the table after spending a few weeks away to film Anansi Boys in Scotland. As Whoopi shared details about the series, Behar interrupted, asking of the titular boys, "Who are those? Who are they?" Not everything is a biopic, Joy.
