Meghan McCain Blasts the Media for Ignoring Biden's Faults: He's 'Leading this Country Into Crisis'

Meghan McCain is done "re-litigating" the January 6 insurrection at the U.S. Capitol. Thursday morning on The View, the conservative firebrand took the mainstream media to task for giving President Biden a free pass on issues ranging from inflation to the escalating violence in Israel-Palestine, a "strategy" she feels is alienating average Americans. "The media doesn't want to focus on anything bad happening in the Biden administration," said McCain. "I implore everyone who works in this industry: just because Trump was so bad doesn't mean this is so good!"

McCain's latest screed came during a Hot Topics discussion about Republican congressmen attempting to re-write history and dismiss the January 6 siege as a "normal tourist visit" to the Capitol. "This happened four months ago, and we've been talking about it for four months, and I've made my perspective on this absolutely crystal clear. I think it's horrific. I don't believe the 'Big Lie,'" she began. "But when Joy says, 'Friends of hers are frightened,' friends of mine are frightened, as well!"

The co-host then turned her attention to the gas shortage affecting large portions of the East Coast and her concerns about not being able to drive to work, should she run out of gas. "I'm privileged. I work at a company that's going to figure out a way for me to get to work. What about the average American?" said McCain.

From there, McCain took aim at Sara Haines' claim that the GOP's "broken record-ing" of the insurrection is a "strategy" to change the narrative. "You want to talk about a 'strategy,' Sara? A strategy is not focusing on anything the Biden administration is doing right now that is leading this country into crisis!" said McCain. "There's a crisis at the border. Inflation rates are sky high, the Middle East is on fire, unemployment is crazy, and a lot of Americans can't figure out how to get gas in their car. These are real problems! It's like the '70s, all over again."

"There are real meat and potatoes issues impacting average Americans who are also frightened!" she continued. "And I think we should be focusing on that versus re-litigating something that happened four months ago."

Rather than engage, Whoopi Goldberg simply sighed, and threw the discussion to Sunny Hostin, who was more willing to spar with her co-host. "It's really important not to forget what happened JUST four months ago. The attack on our democracy continues each and every day by the Republican Party, and that is something we cannot forget," said Hostin, in a clear dig at McCain's comment. "January 6, 2021 should go down in history as the day that our democracy was attacked by insurrectionists, started by a disgraced, former, impeached president -- one-term president."
