The women of The View have a message for First Lady Dr. Jill Biden: "When speaking to Hispanics, really, really avoid any comparisons to tacos, enchiladas, chimichangas, alcapurrias, and chilaquiles."
On Tuesday morning, the co-hosts had a hearty laugh while discussing Biden's recent speech, in which she clumsily attempted to compare Latinos to different types of tacos. Though the co-hosts gave Biden the benefit of the doubt, they insisted the moment was uncomfortable and rife with stereotypical language, and they eagerly mocked the first lady for the flub.
"We all step in poo from time to time, so this happens," said Whoopi Goldberg. "But you can hear the people going, 'What did she say?' Did she just say 'bo-ge-duh?'"
The co-hosts were stunned that no one on Biden's staff intercepted the speech before she read it aloud at the UnidosUS conference in San Antonio on Monday. "Who wrote the speech and went, 'Yes, I got it right,'" said Sunny Hostin. "She has so many high-level Latinas on her staff."
"Were they all at some other meeting without her?" asked Whoopi, as Hostin insisted "they were not there" when the speech was approved.
Biden has since apologized for the speech. "The first lady apologizes that her words conveyed anything but pure admiration and love for the Latino community," spokesman Michael LaRosa said in a statement.

Though Ana Navarro praised Biden for attending the UnidosUS conference in the first place, she said it doesn't make up for her decision to compare Hispanic diversity to stereotypical foods, a point to which the other co-hosts agreed.
"Speaking about anyone — just avoid food related to people," said guest co-host Ginger Zee.
"I would be upset if someone said, 'You bring the chicken out in people," replied Whoopi, earning a laugh from the audience. "That's kind of what — this is what [she did]."
After Hostin chided Biden for making an "unforced error" by relying on "racial stereotypes," Whoopi spoke directly to the first lady. "Dr. Jill, just hear the humor. We get it. We understood what you were trying to do," she said. "Just try not to do it again."
Of course, Navarro couldn't help but get in one final zinger. "And today is Taco Tuesday!" she said, throwing her hands up in the air. Happy Taco Tuesday, everyone!
