The mood was light Wednesday morning on The View following news that the Manhattan DA has convened a grand jury to investigate former President Donald Trump's business dealings. While Meghan McCain and Sara Haines were hesitant to put the horse before the cart, Joy Behar was more than happy to celebrate for the both of them. "When he's indicted, I'm going to have a big party with Mexican food," said Behar. "A piñata, margaritas, everything. I can't wait."
"I haven't had to say the words 'You Know Who' in a while, but You Know Who is back in the headlines thanks to New York's DA convening a special grand jury in their investigation of whether he had a hand in his business committing federal bank fraud, insurance fraud, and tax fraud, among other things," said Whoopi Goldberg at the top of Wednesday's broadcast. "Of course, he's denying all charges, with his, 'It's a politically-motivated witch hunt' claim."
When Goldberg asked for her reaction to the news, Behar was elated. "I was reading that 95 to 99% of all cases that go to the grand jury end up in indictments," she said. "I'm a betting woman, and I say he could be indicted very easily, and I think he's probably trembling."
Behar then invited her co-hosts to her post-indictment party, which, for unspecified reasons, will include Mexican food. "I'm having a severe case of schadenfreude as we speak!" she said with a smile.

Sunny Hostin, who also serves as an ABC legal analyst, agreed, explaining that "grand juries being convened usually signals the beginning of the criminal process," but McCain and Haines weren't so sure. "There seems to always be a lot of smoke, and we never quite get to the source of the fire," said Haines. "I feel like the former president is like the Energizer Bunny: he takes a licking and keeps on ticking."
"I remember when the Mueller report was like Geraldo Rivera with Al Capone's vault," added McCain. "I've been told for five years that he's going to be handcuffed and trotted off into jail, and I'll believe it when I see it."
