Fans hoping The View would confirm reports that Alyssa Farah Griffin has been named the show's new conservative co-host were left disappointed Wednesday morning. The ladies declined to address the rumors altogether, instead opting for a light-hearted show featuring a eulogy for the discontinued Choco Taco and a chaotic discussion about people hiding in the walls of homes, a phenomenon known as "phrogging."
After a lone political Hot Topic — at the end of which Sara Haines addressed Turning Point USA sending a cease and desist letter to ABC News over "defamatory" statements made Monday on The View — the panel moved on to the biggest issue of the week: Klondike ending production of the Choco Taco, the beloved ice cream treat.
With a Choco Taco on hand as a prop, Whoopi Goldberg introduced the "media frenzy" surrounding the Choco Taco news, and Sara Haines was quick to chime in with a tribute to the fallen treat.
"There was no slow runway to this ending. They dropped it into my news feed like it meant nothing to them," she said. "And then I proceeded to have to handle the trauma of that announcement by myself. Slowly I've met so many friends as we comfort and grieve together over the loss of the Choco Taco."
Griffin seemed to agree with that sentiment. "For all of the things that are thrust upon us that we don't want, like the Doritos Taco Bell," she said (an objectively false remark, because the Doritos Locos tacos are great). "There's a Velveeta martini, which sounds horrifying. But this beautiful childhood snack that I was raised with is now being taken away from us?"

Though Sunny Hostin admitted she only recently learned about Choco Tacos, she understands how hard it can be "when you love something and you can't find it." Hostin then compared the Choco Taco discontinuation to her inability to find the "Summers Eve Coconut Water Cleansing Cloths," which "keep you very fresh" whenever needed.
"I can tell you've never tasted a Choco Taco because you just equated it to a Summers Eve wipe," replied Haines, who went on to praise the inventor of the treat for figuring out how to get "the cone throughout the whole thing," and not just the end. "It's a buffet of deliciousness!"
As the co-hosts continued to go back-and-forth, Whoopi looked on with indifference. When she'd finally had enough, she invited producers to "bring on the Choco Tacos," with each woman getting one as a mid-morning snack. "So, eat up," she said, the implication being: "Shut up."
The good vibes only continued in the next segment. Despite the subject matter — Lifetime's terrifying new series, Phrogging: Hider in My House — the ladies engaged in a lively discussion about their respective creepy basements and haunted attics. In a trademark Joy Behar tangent, the co-host admitted she used to dress up "a giant bowling pin" in a dress and hat to make it seem as if there was someone else in the car with her, thereby deterring any potential threats.
Fun discussion or not, Whoopi was even less engaged this time around, and she soon began playing with a laser pointer (where did that come from? Who knows).

When Hostin tried to take the discussion in a new direction, Whoopi shut her down, instead reminding Haines that it was time to plug The View's sponsor, StitchFix. Because nothing says effective advertising quite like transitioning from "crevice" creepers to online personal styling!
