Meghan McCain and Joy Behar's vicious cycle of making up and breaking up continued Thursday with the duo's second screaming match in three days. McCain and Behar went at it during a discussion about Dr. Fauci, who recently said that Americans are "misinterpreting" the CDC's new mask guidelines. When Behar asked if conservatives are avoiding the COVID-19 vaccine to "own the libs," McCain blew up, and the two proceeded to get into a screaming match that ended only when Whoopi Goldberg shut off their mics. Let's not forget who the real boss is around here, ladies.
For what seems like the thousandth day in a row, the women of The View spent Thursday morning discussing vaccine hesitancy among Republicans. "It's not that complicated, people. It's not nuclear physics. All you have to do is get the damn vaccine," said Joy Behar. "What is the complicated problem here with people? I don't understand it. This is just to own the libs?"
McCain took issue with her co-host's comments almost immediately. "I've said it a million times on this show: the messaging is absolute garbage coming from Fauci," she said. "It's not just about owning the libs. The demographics on who is vaccine hesitant — it crosses the gamut. There's still a lot of vaccine hesitancy in the African-American community ... A lot of women are concerned about what it could possibly do if you're in child-bearing years."
"The White House and the CDC has done a terrible job, and just saying, 'What, you want to own the libs and that's that,' it's not productive, and this is why people keep going into their corners," she continued. "This is coming from a place of fear. I don't think it's coming from a place of politics. People just don't understand and don't know."
The segment could have ended there, but Behar insisted on responding to the perceived slight. "A lot of people of color have every right to be skeptical of the government. They have been burnt for generations by various policies," said Behar. "And so they're nervous. That's different!"

McCain attempted to interrupt with an argument about Republicans' reasons for being "nervous," but Behar shut her down. "Excuse me! I'm not done," said Behar, holding up her hand. "I want as many people vaccinated in as many ways, but when you come on the show and say, 'Oh, we're owning the libs,' it's just factually inaccurate."
"Excuse me!" said Behar, noting that "a lot of these people" are getting misinformation from Fox News. "They're not! They are not!" replied McCain, as Behar slapped her thighs in frustration.
The two continued to yell over each other until Goldberg, and a producer with mic-silencing powers, finally put the kibosh on the situation. "We're gonna go and come right back," said Goldberg, with her co-hosts' voices fading out behind her.
Please, guys, can we have a calm, Fauci-free Friday?
